Renaissance Carved Hunt Board, Server or Console

Spectacularly carved in Renaissance design, this grand "hunt board" or sideboard, server or console has a superb finish and rich color. Originally, this was used when retuning from hunting for a cold supper buffet of cheeses, smoked fish and meat.

The heroic base is solid walnut, crafted with sweeping lines and palatial detail. Carved corner columns are remarkable. American furniture from the 1920's, the top has matched grain. Even the back legs are fully carved.

Behind the pair of doors are large silver or linen drawers. Dovetailed joints on all drawers, solid mahogany sides and interior finish show superior workmanship. Embossed brasses are original.
