This remarkable stool height roll top desk from about 1900 was said to have been made for a physician who was also his own pharmacist.
Solid quarter sawn oak, the deep brown finish is excellent, there are stains from medicine and ink for antique character.
The roll works, inside is a later granite block for mixing drugs.
Drawers have original pulls signed "American Cabinets, Co. Two Rivers WI" The roll when closed is slightly warped and doesn't lock - see photos.
Inside are clips for stamps or vials, there is a pull out shelf, and a pull out bin and shelf.
