Rosewood Marquetry Chest, Marble & Mirror, Italian

A radiant marble-top chest of drawers, dresser or "commode" has gentle curves in rosewood with impeccable inlaid marquetry and a shaped and beveled mirror. The mirror has minor scratches - see photos. Cast bronze hardware is original from about 1915. Splendid warm patina is evident in the superb satiny finish.

Diagonal matching and exotic tulipwood banding show masterful workmanship. The Italian black marble is richly veined in gold and white, and in excellent condition.

This elegant antique furniture has hand dovetailed drawers, size is 4' 10" wide, 23" deep, 6' 3" tall and the marble is 40" high.
