Rosewood & Pearl Chinese Trunk Coffee Table

Hand made in China about 20 years ago, this solid rosewood trunk or chest was inlaid with genuine mother of pearl would make a fascinating coffee table.
Thousands of engraved pieces depict peacocks, trees, birds and flowers in incredible intricate detail. There are floating raised panels on all sides. The interior is camphor wood, used like cedar in the Orient to ward off moths and insects.
The rich reddish finish is excellent on this artistic vintage furniture. There are a few scratches in the top and some minor losses in the pearl, see photos.
Measurements are 40" long, 21" deep and 23 1/2" tall.
