An impressive set of twelve Italian Renaissance Revival dining chairs, late 19th century, executed in carved birch and oak and retaining embossed polychrome leather upholstery with original brass lion-mask and rosette mounts. Drawing inspiration from the Italian Renaissance, the design balances robust construction with richly layered ornament. The varied patination of the leather, brass, and wood speaks to the age and authenticity of the ensemble, preserved together as a rare surviving set.
