Set of Vintage Armor with Engraving & Stand, Signed Marto, Spain #28594

About 25 years old, this spectacular suit of hand wrought steel armor with lavish hand engraving is a replica after a suit in the Royal Armory in Madrid, Spain. Signed by "Marto Armor" in Toledo, Spain, there is a wood pedestal.

There is a little corrosion to the armor and the shield, which is embossed with a royal standing lion. The original suit dates from the era of Charles V and Philip II in the 1500's. Leather straps connect the various pieces. There is a wood frame to support the armor, it appears to be wearable if the knight is slender enough.

Original cost is about $10,000 for this richly detailed replica.

The pedestal is 22" square and overall height including the lance is 7.'
