A splendid Sheraton period chest of drawers or dresser dates from about 1800. Hand-made of solid mahogany, the gleaming finish is excellent. The top is a single plank of mahogany 22" wide, with a few old shrinkage separations. The center jewelry drawer has a key for a handle, with an operational lock. Delicate inlaid banding and marquetry has a few repairs at the top left.
Drawers are hand dovetailed, there are square nails visible on the back side. Brass pulls are original, the bottom left back-plate has been repaired, see photo. Dimensions of this historic American east coast antique furniture are 50" wide, 22" deep, and 42" tall.
