A curly "tiger" grain maple secretary desk with bookcase was hand crafted about 1830 during the Sheraton period.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made East Coast antique furniture. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. A key works the upper doors only, which have old wavy glass panes. Spiral columns with traditional hand carved pineapples are classic.
The flip open desktop has new leather inserts. There have been various restorations over many years, the finial is a replacement. For easier delivery, the upper bookcase is removable.
Measurements are 38" wide, 20" deep and 84" tall, the desktop slants from 29" to 31" high.
