America's finest piano is the Steinway and Sons from New York, this Model "M" grand piano is remarkably well preserved from 1913.
The mahogany case has its original finish with typical "crazing" or fine crackling from age and warm antique patina. There are minor mars and dings for character. Original natural keys have minor chips and wear.
Bass strings have been replaced as shown. The original sounding board is in very fine condition, still bearing coats of arms of European royalty that appointed Steinway pianos to their courts. Hammers show that this piano was not played very much, it has been tuned and holds a tune well. The resonant bass and brilliant treble plus the limber action show why Steinway pianos are famous.
This antique musical instrument measures 58" wide, 66" long and 38" tall when the wing is down. A coordinating mahogany bench with brass feet and music storage under the seat is included.
The finish is in excellent condition with a few restorations on this family piano from Chicago.
Bench size is 36" long, 15" wide and 19" tall.
