Swedish Immigrant Pine Trunk Hand Painted & Signed 1861, Working Lock #33649

A wonderful "camel back" immigrant trunk was hand crafted in Sweden and dated 1861. Folk art painting and the signature name are similar to Norwegian rosemaling, hand painted inside and out. The giant original lock and key still work.

There is wear to the original paint, which has been preserved with clear varnish. Carved of solid pine, corners have hand cut dovetail joints on this antique furniture. Inside is a compartment for valuable. Wrought iron mounts and handles are also original.

Measurements are 47" wide, 24" deep and 29" tall.
