This bronze statue of the "Dying Gaul" is after the famous classical Roman statue in the Capitoline Museum.
The fallen warrior from what is now France and Germany has a wound on his chest, the pathos and realism are still affecting.
This sculpture from about 80 years ago has a rich dark golden patina, which was scuffed in several places and then lacquered, see photos.
Size of this antique work of art is 6 1/2" long, 3" wide and 3 1/4" tall.
