Torsion Balance Gold, Apothecary or Lab Scale

Signed "Torsion Balance Co., New York," a nickel and glass scale may have been used for gold, pharmaceuticals or in a laboratory. There is deterioration on the finish of this American scale from about 1930.

Rated up to 120 grams, the lid can be closed to protect from drafts. An outside handle moves the fine weight to adjust, another level arrest the movement. Screw feet adjust the level of this scientific antique, and the pans are removable.

Size is 13" wide, 5 3/4" deep, and 7" tall.
