A spectacular Baroque design clock and matching stand has a German "Hermle" movement and Italian marquetry case and stand.
- Clock is signed "Versailles," engraved "FSH" for Franz Hermle of Germany from about 40 years ago
- Case and base are inlaid marquetry with rosewood, mahogany, tulipwood and burl signed "Made in Italy"
- Brass movement keeps accurate time, familiar Westminster melody plays one bar on every quarter hour, and counts hour
- Mounts and cherub or angel with flute sculpture are cast solid brass
- Original hand rubbed finish is in very fine condition, top of base is marble
Size of the base is 19" wide, 9.5" deep and 45.5" tall, the clock is 15" wide, 7" deep and 30" tall, height overall is 92.5."
