Victorian Antique Oak Tall Case Grandfather Clock Hebert #55076

This gorgeously carved tall case or grandfather clock has a beautifully ornate face with delicate filigree. Peer closely and you may spot the queen heads, a possible subtle nod to Queen Victoria.

• English 1825 era antique clock signed "John Hebert"
• Quarter sawn oak with hand carved fruits, flowers, lions, & a mythological face
• Old finish has been waxed and buffed, preserving minor mars. All that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
• Shrinkage separations from age - see photos
• Wavy glass door
• Original brass face, weights, & pendulum
• Clock face has "Thisle Morth" engraved, probably where clock was made
• Eight day movement professionally oiled & serviced
• Bell counts hour
• Working second hand & calendar
• Hood & top crest are removable

Overall size is 20.5" wide, 13" deep and 87" tall. Without crest, height is 80" tall.

This clock needs to be "set up" after delivery - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
