A flamboyant Victorian pump, reed or parlor organ has a carved solid quarter-sawn oak case. There is incised "spoon" carving that shows Eastlake influence on this American musical instrument from about 1890.
The restored mechanism plays beautifully, "stops" for different voices and octave links work, as do the knee operated "swell" levers. Tone is strong and mellow, the bellows are in excellent condition.
The rich medium brown finish is excellent. On the removable galleries above are spaces for candles or lanterns, there is sheet music storage behind the music desk, and a cover slides out over the keys. The original shaped and beveled mirror has a little "smoke" to show its age.
Signed by noted maker, "Windsor," size of this nostalgic antique is 4' 3" wide, 23" deep and 6' 9" tall.
