Hand carved of solid walnut about 1870 during the Victorian period, this elegant bed has been expertly adapted to fit a modern queen size mattress as shown.
The satiny finish is in excellent condition, enhancing "flame grain" burl panels. Graceful ovals and exquisite details show outstanding American workmanship of the era.
Original rails were extended to fit the modern spring and mattress, wooden slats for support underneath are included.
Measurements of this graceful antique furniture are 7' 3" long, 67" wide, the headboard is 58" tall and the footboard is 39" high.
