This classic Eastlake or late Victorian secretary desk has a barrel or cylinder roll top. Carved of solid walnut with burl panels about 1880, the warm finish is superb with wonderful golden patina and very little wear. Embossed nickel hardware is original.
The upper bookcase section has original wavy glass doors and adjustable shelves, it is separate for handling.
Above the leather pull-out writing surface are tiny compartments. Matched curly walnut burl on the roll is stunning, drawers below are dovetailed. There are old inkstains, see photos
Dimensions of this American antique furniture are 37" wide, 24" deep, 6' 11" tall, and the writing surface is 30" above the floor.
