This distinctive late Victorian or Eastlake period secretary desk has a bookcase top. Made of solid walnut and dating from about 1885, there is incised "spoon" or chip carving, characteristic of the era. The gleaming finish is superb, and the drop front opens to tiny cubicles and a drawer. There are a few ink stains inside. The removable upper bookcase has adjustable wooden shelves and original wavy glass in the doors. Below are dovetailed drawers, and square nails are visible on the backside.
Measurements of this historic antique furniture are 3' wide, 21" deep, 7'11" tall to the top of the removable carved crest, 7'2" tall to the top of the crown molding, and the writing surface is 32" above the floor.
