An impressive Victorian secretary desk with bookcase top was handmade of solid American walnut about 1875. Original wavy glass doors, carved pulls, and an original finish with rich and warm patina are just some of the superlatives on this genuine antique. Very solid and usable furniture, the upper section has adjustable shelves on wooden supports, and is separate for easy moving. Square hand-made nails are visible on the backside. When the droplfront desk is opened, there are compartments and a tiny drawer inside. Drawers are hand-dovetailed with chamfered bottoms. The classical pediment on top is beautiful, and measurements are 4' wide, 20" deep, 7'4" tall, and the writing surface is 28 1/2" above the floor.
