Signed by famous Connecticut clockmaker, Waterbury, a mahogany arched mantel clock strikes the hour and quarter with chimes in the familiar "Westminster" melody, after Big Bed in London. The signed 8 day brass movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled, it keeps excellent time.
A silver original engraved dial has some charming wear and includes "chime or silent" and "fast/slow" controls. The rich dark finish on the mahogany case which has warm antique patina and a few mars at the edges is also original, see photos.
After shipment, the levers on the chimes may need minor adjustment. Most recent patent date is engraved "March 21, 1918." Size of this stately clock is 22" long, 8" deep and 11 1/2" tall.
