Hand crafted about 1910, this beautiful lamp with a leaded stained glass shade in tulip motif has wonderful colors and superior workmanship. The unsigned base and cap are definitely attributed to Wilkinson by its distinctive design of the base.
Elmer Wilkinson made lamps in Brooklyn, NY from 1909 to 1915. The shade is also unsigned and has numerous hairline cracks to the panes of opalescent and transparent glass, see photos. Three pull chain sockets have been rewired with an authentic silk cord.
The deeply embossed cast metal base of this antique light has a rich bronze color.
Hand leaded with tiny joints, the 18" diameter shade is tight and rattle free, height is 24 1/2" overall.
