Italian Pietre Dure Inlaid Marble Top Carved 1870 Antique Round Table

A splendid example of Italian "Pietre (or Pietra) Dure" artistry, this black marble top table was inlaid with marble pieces to create a picture about 1870.
The deeply hand carved pine base has a well worn original ebonized and gold finish with some losses, see photos. Preserved with a satiny varnish, the pedestal of this antique furniture from Italy is reglued to serve another generation.
The black marble top is truly a work of art and has been polished and sealed to resist stains. There is an almost 3" long abrasion that has been smoothed and polished, see photos.
Size is 19 1/2" diameter and 30 1/2" tall.
