A splendid 1890 era bookcase from the Black Forest, where Germany, Switzerland and France meet has deeply hand carved art, literature and music motifs.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Spiral columns are well proportioned. Shelves adjust on wooden supports, doors have a working lock and old wavy glass. The hand dovetailed drawer has a lion head pull and restored bottom on this remarkable antique furniture.
Dimensions are 61" wide at the crown, 22" deep and 91 1/2" tall.
