Hand carved of solid oak about 1890 in the Black Forest where Germany, France and Switzerland meet, this oval round library, game, breakfast or dining table has one leaf. The base has three dimensional lion heads and paws plus fruit.
The top is revarnished for durability and has a slight warp from age. The base has a very well preserved original finish which has been waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain its warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. The 12" wide leaf has matching skirts or aprons on this antique European furniture.
Dimensions are 40" x 45" when closed, 45" x 52" with the leaf in place, 30" tall and legroom is almost 27" underneath.
