A nickel railroad type pocket watch has a brass case dated "May 1, 1898," and has holes in the back where it would have been mounted on a wall or locomotive.
The jeweled watch is unsigned, it runs accurately for more than a day on a winding. There are numerous engraved numbers inside the inner back cover. The dial is in very fine condition with a small second hand. A fingernail lever engages the time setting. The knob is worn to brass, see photo. Watch diameter is 2 1/4."
The brass case has a worn velvet liner and monogram, "HMR" plus brass hooks to hold the watch securely. Case size is 3" wide, 4" tall and 1 1/2" deep.
