An Empire period sofa from about 1900 has a hand carved solid mahogany frame with classical cornucopia or horn of plenty, acanthus and lion paw motifs, and is newly upholstered.
The frame has been reglued to serve another generation. The restored finish is in excellent condition, flattering matched flame grain panels and preserving just enough mars and shrinkage separations from age for a little antique character. American made furniture, the seat is comfortable and the back is typically firm.
Size is 76" long, 26" deep, 34" tall and the seat is 18" high.
