All original from the 1890's, a hand carved solid walnut hall or throne chair has well worn needlepoint and petitpoint upholstery.
The original finish is very well preserved and has masterful carving with paw feet. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Hand stitched upholstery with griffins or dragons is faded and worn, as is the velvet back, see photos. Brass nailheads are also original on this antique furniture from France. The frame has a slight flex, but is strong and durable.
Measurements are 27" wide, 31" deep, 46" tall and the wide seat is 18" high.
