Signed "Sligh of Holland, Mich," a long case or grandfather clock from about 30 years ago has a traditional solid cherry case with elm burl panels. The original finish is in extremely fine condition on this American made vintage furniture. Model 0950-1-AN
Professionally cleaned and oiled, the brass movement keeps excellent time, running a week. The familiar Westminster chime plays on each quarter hour and counts the hour. Also plays St. Michaels and Whittington chimes. Polished brass weights, pendulum and winding crank are original. Pendulum has minor dent and wear as shown.
Measurements are 25" wide, 14" deep and 83" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
