Hand carved of solid oak about 1910, a Country French pewter cupboard, server or sideboard has a clock.
The original finish is very well preserved with just enough wear and stains for a little antique character. Waxed and buffed, all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth.
Raised panels have fine detailing, hand carved by a master. Drawers have solid oak sides with dovetail joints. Hardware, including lift off hinges, is original, a key operates the locks. Open shelves have rails to display plates.
Porthole windows are beveled, the brass clock movement is signed by famous maker, "Kieninger" of Germany, and has been professionally cleaned and oiled. It keeps excellent time for about three days on a pull chain winding. A gong counts the hour and sounds the half hour. The embossed brass dial, weights and pendulum have nice antique patina.
The upper section is removable for easier delivery of this historic furniture from France.
