Signed by America's finest maker, this "Steinway & Sons" grand piano is a beloved Model "A1" from 1896. Completely rebuilt and refinished about 20 years ago, it is in exceptional playing condition.
There are various minor mars and scratches to the restored satin ebony hand rubbed finish plus shrinkage separations from age, see photos. Original genuine ivory keys are in remarkably fine condition, the music desk appears to be a later Steinway model.
The soundboard has various shrinkage separations from age, they were expertly secured and screwed to preserve the original spruce, and do not affect tone or performance. The original decals show appointments to the royalty of Europe.
Hammer felts show that this piano has been played little since the professional rebuilding. It has been tuned and inspected, everything is in very fine playing condition with the splendid rich sonority expected of Steinway. Legs are carved on this American made antique piano. Serial number is 86384, this model was produced from 1892-1897.
