An Art Deco grandfather or long case clock from about 1925 has a richly grained olive wood and mahogany case. The brass movement is signed "Hawina-HWN" which stands for Hans Winterhalder-Neustadt.
The renewed finish is in excellent condition, preserving a few mars and shrinkage separations for a little antique character. The brass movement keeps accurate time for a week on a winding and has a two note chime on the hour, and strikes the half hour as well. The brass dial, pendulum and weights are original on this antique clock.
Size is 20" wide, 11" deep and 76" tall.
This clock needs to be "set up" when delivered - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved for cleaning, painting or whatever. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
