This cash register was made for a barber shop or candy store about 1910, and is brass with an original black crackled enamel and nickel finish.
Keys work up to 59 cents, enough for a haircut or bag of candy at the time. The "50" cent flag is missing but could be replaced. Inside are a counter for the lid and a total dollar sales register that can be reset to "0."
There are losses to the black enamel, see photos. Walnut mounts have a few dings for antique character. No maker's signature plate survives that we can find on this American made antique.
Size is 10" wide, 16" deep and 17" tall.
