An immigrant trunk or blanket chest was hand hewn of solid pine and poplar around 1840. Paneled all around, joints are secured with carved wooden pegs. Reverse raised panels and hand planing marks are authentic on this antique furniture from Ohio. There is inside the faint smell of mothballs that may never go away.
The original finish has loads of wear, mars and losses, and has been preserved with clear varnish. Inside is a small compartment for valuables.
