Carved of solid cherry in New England, this Empire period secretary desk with bookcase top dates from about 1825. Doors have wavy glass of various ages, there is a key for each lock.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough mars, stains and old repairs for a little antique character. Drawers have chamfered bottoms and hand cut dovetail joints on this American made antique furniture. The upper bookcase is removable for easier delivery.
Measurements are 42" wide tip to tip, 23" deep and 90 1/2" tall, the desktop is 35 1/2" high, used standing or with a tall stool.
