This pair of Roman style "Savonarola" chairs were deeply hand carved with lion paws and feet in Italy about 1900. Thick saddle leather seats are tooled with a family crest, backs have two different scenes.
The restored gleaming finish is in excellent condition on solid birch hardwood. Frames are strong and sturdy on this traditional antique furniture from the Florence area. The leather is soft and strong, brass studs are original.
Size is 26" wide, 24" deep, 35" tall and sling seats are about 16" high.
