A classical design solid oak desk was hand crafted in Scandinavia about 1910. Fluted columns have hand carved Ionic capitals. Raised panels and deep moldings are beautiful on this antique library furniture.
The top has been revarnished for durability, the rest of the original finish is in excellent condition, waxed and buffed so all that is needed to maintain the soft luster is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Fine grained quarter sawn oak has delicate natural grain. The center panel is natural mottled saddle leather.
Exceptionally well constructed, drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Doors swing on solid brass piano hinges and locks have working keys. This imposing desk can be disassembled into three stacking modules.
Measurements are 65" wide, 37 1/2" deep and 30 1/2" tall, the knee hole is 24" wide and 24 1/2" high.
