Hand carved about 1860, a pair of side or dining chairs was hand crafted in Holland, then shipped to the Dutch East Indies, where local artisans added the thousands of tiny pieces of intricate inlaid marquetry, and then returned to Europe. Seats are newly upholstered.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving lots of warps, losses, restorations and shrinkage separations from age for antique character, see photos. Mahogany and golden satinwood have beautiful grain.
Measurements are 18" wide, 18" deep, 35" tall and seats are 18" high.
