A magnificent pair of bookcases from northern Italy was hand carved about 1900 in the Renaissance manner with lion and dolphin heads in high relief.
Solid wormy walnut, the restored finish has warm antique patina. Doors have working locks, and wrought iron grills over glass on this true right and left pair. Classical hand carved detailing is masterful on this historic European library furniture, crowns are rebuilt.
Size is 35" wide tip to tip, 19" deep and 72 1/2" tall.
