This picturesque pewter cupboard, server, sideboard or buffet was hand hewn of solid wormy cherry about 1800 in France. Every surface is hand planed, joints have carved wooden pegs and gallery shelves have mortise joints. In England and America, these pieces are often called a "Welsh Dresser."
The restored finish is in excellent condition with glowing patina on this antique Provincial furniture. There are shrinkage separations from age, see photos. The crown is rebuilt.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints, hardware is original. The giant key and lock work on lower doors which have lift off hinges. The upper section is removable for easier delivery.
Dimensions are 53" wide tip to tip, 25" deep, 81" tall and the base is 37" high.
