This rustic carpenter's workbench was hand hewn of solid pine and maple about 1870, and could be a hall, sofa or wine tasting table. There is a vise or clamp to hold woodworking projects that has a giant wooden screw.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving tons of stains, mars and wear for antique character, see photos. Mortise joints have carved wooden pegs, so the frame is very strong and sturdy. Every surface is hand sawn and uneven on this rather cockeyed primitive furniture from Ohio.
Size is 82" long, 15" deep at the top, 22" across the feet and 30" tall.
