A signed "Regina" music box from about 1900 is in excellent working order with rich, resonant tone. There are ten 15 1/2" disks included. This American made antique has a solid mahogany case with its original finish in remarkably fine condition. There is typical crackling or crazing, see photos.
The mechanism has a double cone and the teeth are intact. The latest patent is May 18, 1897. There is a speed control and an automatic stop or repeat lever. Tone is rich and ringing on this mechanical musical instrument.
There are 3 new copper Porter Christmas tunes, Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy from the Nutcracker, Carol of the Bells and White Christmas. The other disks are of the period, and include Creole Bells March, Sadie Green Song, Artist's Life Waltz, Duet from Lucia by Donizitti,
The cabinet is solid birch with a raised panel door and original brass pull. To the left is a pull out shelf. The old finish has been revarnished.
The music box is 22" wide 20" deep and 12" tall, cabinet size is 25" wide, 22" deep and 34" tall.
