A wonderful chest or dresser from the Empire period about 1820 is solid cherry, curly maple and walnut. Hand carved acanthus columns and raised panels are authentic.
The restored finish is in excellent condition with glowing antique patina, preserving just enough mars and stains for a little antique character. This is American made furniture from Ohio.
Drawers have hand cut dovetail joints. Lower doors have a key and working locks, the key is a handle only for the small jewelry drawer.
Measurements are 46" wide, 23" deep and 53" tall including the "chimney pot" back splash.
