A secretary desk and bookcase from the late Victorian or Eastlake period about 1875 is solid curly grain walnut with a beautiful contrasting golden curly or tiger maple interior.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving just enough mars for a little antique character. A drop front opens to a leather writing surface. Inside are tiny cubicles and drawers for papers on this American made antique furniture.
A large drawer has original embossed brass pulls, all drawers have tiny hand cut dovetail joints. Upper bookshelves adjust on wooden supports. Doors have raised panels, locks and keys work.
The bookcase lifts off for easier delivery.
Measurements are 36" wide tip to tip, 20" deep and 82" tall, the writing surface is 31" high.
