A classic Georgian design secretary desk and bookcase from about 1920 has secret compartments and pull out candle holders. Crafted of mahogany, the claw and ball feet and serpentine curved front are authentic. The traditional pediment crown has flame shaped finials. No maker's signature survives.
The restored finish is in excellent condition on this American made vintage furniture from about 60 years ago. When opened, the drop front writing surface rests on pull out supports. Inside are tiny compartments, drawers and secret compartments.
Brass hardware is original. Only the upper door lock works, other keys are handles only. Upper bookshelves are adjustable and the bookcase is removable for easier transport. Lower drawers have hand cut dovetail joints on this American made antique library furniture.
Size is 39" wide, 21" deep, 84" tall and the desk top is 31" high.
