A pair of small chests, end tables or nightstands was hand carved of solid walnut in Italy about 1920. Tops are famous "Nero Portoro" black and gold Italian marble, which has been polished and sealed with a protective finish.
The original finish is very well preserved and has been waxed and buffed, so all that is needed to maintain the warm patina is an occasional wipe with a soft dry cloth. Drawers have solid oak sides with hand cut dovetail joints and original brass knobs. Side panels are raised on this richly detailed antique furniture.
Size is 14" wide, 11 1/2" wide and 36" tall.
