A grandfather or tall case clock from the Hepplewhite period about 1780 has a modern quartz battery movement. Hand crafted in England, the case is solid walnut.
The original hand painted iron dial has a hunting scene and a young woman depicted in settings of the four seasons of the year. The hand painted moon and ship dial and second hand do not work. There are losses to the paint, see photos.
Size is 20" wide, 11" deep and 97 1/2" tall including the removable finial and 94 1/2" tall without.
The restored finish is in excellent condition, preserving mars and shrinkage separations for antique character.
