A traditional Provincial large armchair from around 1900 was hand carved of solid fruitwood in France. Genuine hand stitched needlepoint and petit point upholstery with figures and birds is old with some sun fading but beautiful. Arm upholstery appears to be later, see photos.
The original finish is in very fine condition with warm patina and has been waxed and buffed. Tight and sturdy, the frame is durable on this antique furniture, springs are comfortable in the large seat.
Size is 27" wide, 28" deep, 40" tall and the seat is 23" wide, 21" deep and 17" tall.
