An engraving entitled "Charge of 2nd Dragoons, Captain May at the Battle of Resaca de la Palma, 2nd May, 1846" is signed in pencil, "F. B.?, Litho. No. 3, June 1846." This was the first major battle in the Mexican American War. Zachary Taylor commanded U. S. troops in Brownsville, TX.
The mat and oak frame are about 70 years old, with a label from San Rafael, CA.
Size is 24" x 17" and 1" deep.
