A beautiful "wag on the wall" or "Morbier" clock is in excellent working order and is signed by the maker "A. Besson a (of) Chantelle," France.
- French antique 1860s clock from the ancient village of Chantelle in central France
- Modern poplar wall mount bracket with new wood support brackets adjustable for leveling
- In very fine condition with mars & corrosion from age - see photos
- Iron weights
- Porcelain over copper face has hairline cracking & damage - see photos
- 8 day movement has been professionally cleaned and oiled and keeps accurate time for a week on a winding
- Bell on hour & half with a French repeater on the hour
- Embossed brass pendulum and face around dial with wheat and grape motifs
Size is 12" wide, 7.5" deep, and 57" tall.

This clock needs to be "set up" after delivery - weights and pendulum attached and the case leveled. Most of our customers can do this as we walk them through the fairly simple steps by phone. The process is not very difficult, and it is also nice to know how to do this again whenever the clock needs to be moved. A few customers prefer to hire a local clockmaker at their own expense to make a house-call and set up the clock, which is usually not very expensive, depending on your location.
