An adjustable 1880's architect's drafting or artist's table was actually used by a US Navy admiral on a Virginia based ship to read nautical charts.
The heavy weight cast iron base revolves and adjusts up and down, brass wheels are original. A solid walnut top has a fine finish, preserving lots of dings and mars for antique character.
An ingenious adjustment allows the top to go anywhere from flat to vertical while keeping the upper shelf flat, see photos.
The rugged base is cast iron on this American made furniture. The top is 26" x 29", height when adjusted flat is 42" to 31" tall.
